- Habit : Herb
- Habitat : Cultivated as well as growing wild in degraded forests and plantations
- Leaves : elliptic, acute at either ends
- Flowers : brownish-yellow
- Rhizome : cream colored.
How to use
- Skin tan & pigmentation : Apply a paste of Kasturi manjal mixed with rose water to the exposed skin, let it stay for 20 minutes and rinse well.
- For Cough : Boil a cup of water, add a pinch of Kasturi manjal powder and have this infusion twice daily to get respite from chest congestion and cough.

Propagation & Cultivation
It is propagated vegetatively by rhizomes and by tissue culture methods.. Cut your rhizomes into sections, with two or three buds on each section.Fill the pots halfway with a good potting soil.Lay the rhizome sections flat on the soil, and cover with more potting soil.Keep the soil moist till the germination starts
