Description
- Habit : Tree
- Habitat : Lateritic areas, also grown in homesteads
- Leaves : simple, opposite, estipulate
- Flowers : bisexual, reddish-purple, in axillary and terminal paniculate cymes.
- Fruit : a drupe
How to use
- Headache, Skin diseases : Heart wood is used for the treatment of headache, skin diseases, inflamed swellings, burns and ulcers.
- Excessive Bleeding : Take 3 gm to 6 gm of sandalwood and grind it to 250ml. Mix it with buttermilk and drink twice a day to stop bleeding.

Grows in tropical and subtropical areas.It is propagated through seeds.They germinate in about 8 - 14 days, with a germination rate of 70%.
