Propagation & Cultivation
Mahani can also be propagated through seeds, though the natural germination rate is quite low. The fruits ripen in November–December, and since the seeds are not commonly available online, they can be collected from wild plants or farmers who cultivate them. Before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours to enhance germination. Sow them in a nursery bed prepared with a 1:1:1 mixture of soil, sand, and organic matter. Germination usually occurs within 8 to 10 days. After about six weeks, when the seedlings are well-developed, they can be transplanted into the field.
