Description
- Habit : Tree
- Habitat : seasonally dry tropical biome.
- Leaves : simple, alternate, spiral
- Flowers : solitary, axillary or in terminal racemes by reduction of upper leaves
- Seed : free, ovoid, with dense covering of long woolly white or rusty hairs.
- Infertility : Its fruit paste is mixed with milk and given for 7 days
- Cough : Seed coot of the plant and Withania somnifera(Aswagandha) are given as fumigation
- Ear infection : Newly formed fruit juice ia applied as drop
- Increasing milk : Root paste is mixed in rice water administered orally helps in increasing milk
- Increases Body weight : Seeds of the plant dried and powdered administered with milk increases body weight.

Propagation & Cultivation
Cotton is propagated by directly planting seeds into well-prepared fields when the soil temperature is warm and stable, at least 18.3°C (65°F); the seeds are sown about 2.5 cm deep in small holes, with a few seeds per hole later thinned to the desired plant stand. It thrives in warm, frost-free conditions with ample water and grows best in deep, well-drained, fertile soils like black clay with high water-holding capacity. The land should be thoroughly prepared by removing weeds and debris and plowing deeply to improve aeration, after which seeds are sown in rows using a seed drill or by hand, maintaining proper spacing for healthy growth and higher yield.
