Description

  1. Habit : Shrub
  2. Habitat : Commonly found in tufts or tickets, prefer the edges of forests and clearings or the banks of watercourses
  3. Leaves : ovate or lanceolate
  4. Flowers : purple in colour ,occurring on few flowered cymes.
  5. Capsules : 3–5 cm long, membranous, finely pubescent, and truncate at the apex.
     
How to use
  • Infusion of fresh leaves and stems is effective in treatment of gonorrhea.
  • Powdered root is an abortifacient and anti-fertility agent.
  • The root has been used to treat itch
