- Habit : Tree

- Fruit : a berry, yellow or red, pericarp very thick, fleshy

- Piles : The fruit pulp is taken internally to cure piles and dysentery.
- Seed oil is used for ointments and other pharmaceutical purposes
- It is also useful for healing chapped or cracked lips, hands and feet.

It can be propagated through seeds.To grow Kudampuli from seeds, collect ripe fruits and clean the seeds. Sow them 2–3 cm deep in moist, well-drained soil. Seeds germinate in 3–4 weeks. Transplant the seedlings when they reach 30–40 cm height, keeping 6–8 meters spacing. The best time to plant is during the early monsoon
