It can be propagated through seeds.Palmyra is a tough palm that grows in tropical and subtropical areas, especially below 800 m. It survives with low rainfall (250 mm) and grows well in full sun and sandy soil.It tolerates temperatures from 0°C to 45°C and can handle drought and waterlogging. Found mostly in lowlands and near rice fields.It flowers after 12–20 years. Being dioecious, both male and female trees are needed for fruit.
