Description

  1. Habit : Shrub
  2. Habitat : Degraded moist deciduous forest areas and riversides, also in the plains
  3. Leaves : ovate lanceolate entire, sinuate, toothed acute,thin glabrous
  4. Flowers : White,small
  5. Fruit : berry, black when ripe, shining but some time yellow,red when ripe
How to use
  1. Liver disease : Juice of leaves used to treat chronic enlargement of liver.
  2. For Skin Conditions : Mix Manathakkali powder with a small amount of water or aloe vera gel to form a paste. Apply this paste to the affected area and leave it on for 20-30 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.
  3. For Joint Pain : Combine the powder with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil) and gently massage it onto the affected joints.
Uses

Diuretic, and aphrodisiac.

Propagation & Cultivation

Propagation is very easily done from seeds. Manithakkali plants usually grow by themselves in gardens and open areas from animal waste, bird droppings; or through wind and water dispersal of seeds.
