Description
- Habit : Climbers
- Habitat : Semi-evergreen, deciduous forests, also in the plains
- Leaves : subsessile, alternate, opposite or whorled
- Flowers : yellowish below and reddish above, axillary, solitary or in few-flowered, terminal racemes
How to use
- Asthma : The leaves when applied in the form of a paste to the forehead and neck, are reported to cure asthma in children.
- Head lice : The leaf juice is used against head lice.
- Inflammations, ulcers : Rhizomes are used to treat inflammations, ulcers, parasitic skin diseases, leprosy, intermittent fever, debility, vomiting and burning sensation.

Menthonni is propagated by seeds, which germinate slowly due to a hard seed coat but can be improved by soaking overnight in warm water before sowing in well-drained soil where germination takes 3 weeks to 3 months, with flowering occurring after 3–4 years, and it thrives in tropical warm, humid conditions with full sun or partial shade, preferring sandy loam soil of pH 6.0–7.0 enriched with compost or manure
