Description 

  1. Habit : Shrub 
  2. Habitat : Shola forests, evergreen and semi-evergreen forests of South India. 
  3. Leaves : alternate, opposite,elliptic or elliptic-ovate to oblong 
  4. Flowers : spherical in buds, white, glandular,lobes rounded 
  5. Berries : spherical, yellowish when ripe

How to use
  1. Coughs and Fever : Leaves are boiled in water to create a tea-like liquid for treating coughs, fever, or digestive issues.
  2. Skin infections, boils : Crushed leaves are applied directly to skin infections, boils, or joints affected by rheumatism.
  3. Intestinal pain : Roots are boiled or soaked for treatment of intestinal pain, malaria, or as a tonic.
  4. The fresh juice of leaves is used for coughs.

Propagation & Cultivation 

Propagation through Seeds : Sow in a well-drained soil mix during spring or summer. Cuttings: Take stem cuttings during spring or summer and root in a well-drained medium. Suited for tropical climates, specifically in evergreen or shola forests, and can be grown in similar, partially shaded to sunny environments. Requires well-drained soil and Needs regular watering.
