Description

It is propagated through grafting.
Epicotyl grafting in cashew : Uproot healthy seedlings early, behead at 8–10 cm, and make a 4–6 cm slit. Insert a wedged scion to match the rootstock, then bind firmly with a 30 cm × 1.5 cm polythene strip (100–120 gauge). Plant the graft in a 30 × 20 cm, 300–350 gauge polybag (soil:sand:cow dung = 2:1:1) with drainage holes, keeping the graft above soil level. Water well. Success rate ~70% with good temperature, humidity, and hygiene.
