- Cold,flu : An infusion of leaves in decoction is used as a common remedy for cold,flu,cough.
- A decoction of the bark is used to treat abdominal pain and intestinal parasites.
- Combined with the leaves, it is used to treat fevers.
- The bark is used as a poultice on bumps, swellings and inflammatory conditions of the skin
