Description
- Habit : Herb
- Habitat : The plant thrives best in areas of low rainfall where winter and monsoon rains
- Leaves : slightly furry, with dark violet shoots and oval to broad oval leaves
- Flowers : white to cream, yellow, red, and violet.
- Fruits : knobby, not spiny.
How to use
- Rheumatic swellings of joints : lumbago, sciatica and neuralgia, warm leaf smeared with an oil is used as a bandage or sometimes the leaf is made into a poultice and applied.
- Leaves and seeds are inhaled in whooping cough, asthma and other respiratory diseases.

Propagation & Cultivation
It is propagated through seeds.After collecting the seeds from brown pods, scarify them by carefully scraping with a knife. This will help the germination process. Then soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Seeds sowed in vermiculate will germinate in 3-8 weeks. March is the best time for seed sowing.
