- Habit : Shrub
- Habitat : Paddy fields and other moist localities
- Leaves : in whorls of 8, unequal, linear-lanceolate, margins dentate and wavy, sessile
- Flowers : pink, in axillary whorls
- Seeds : orbicular
How to use
- Fever : Boiled leaves are used to fight fever, by steaming and bathing in the boiled water
- Eye ulcers : Burnt and smoked leaves and stems are used to heal eye ulcers.
- Stomachache : Leaves, stems, and flowers are boiled and drunk as a tea for stomachache.

It can be propagated through seeds and stem cuttings.Collect seeds after flowering (by August), but they have low viability outside their natural habitat.For better germination, sow seeds in sunny, nutrient-rich soil near ponds or streams.Stem cuttings are the most reliable method.Transplant seedlings into bags or soil; use damp, rich soil and give plenty of sunlight.
