Description
- Habit : Tree
- Habitat : moist tropical lowlands at altitudes of up to 1200 m and in dry season
- Leaves : elliptical, but rounded at the base, they are aromatic when crushed
- Flowers : white to yellowish white with four petals and numerous stamens.
- Fruits : sweet flavor with a crisp and crunchy texture, very juicy, and has a delicate, rose-water fragrance
- Bark : pinkish-grey in color.
How to use
- Reduces risk of cancer : consuming water apples can reduce the risk of developing prostate and breast cancer.
- Water apples are easier to consume in jams, jellies and squash, especially for kids.

It can be propagated through seeds, stem cuttings, air layering.To propagate water apple by air layering, select a healthy pencil-thick branch, make a 1-inch ring cut, optionally apply rooting hormone, wrap it with moist sphagnum moss or coco peat, cover with plastic and tie both ends, keep it moist for 4–8 weeks until roots form, then cut below the rooted area and plant it in soil—best done in spring to early monsoon.
