Description

  1. Habit : Tree
  2. Habitat : Moist deciduous forests, also cultivated in the plains
  3. Leaves : simple, alternate.
  4. Flowers : unisexual, greenish-yellow, densely clustered in leaf axils
  5. Fruit : a capsule, yellowish-green
How to use
  1. Rejuvenation : Fresh fruits are eaten for body rejuvenation. 
  2. Eye diseases : Apply the strained juice of green gooseberry to the eyes.
  3. Indigestion & Diarrhea : Tender shoots taken with butter milk cures indigestion and diarrhea.

Propagation & Cultivation

It is propagated by seeds and rarely by root suckers and grafts.Prefers a warm dry climate.It needs good sunlight and rainfall.Grow in almost all types of soils,except very sandy type.
