- Heart diseases : Wheat and bark of the plant is processed in oil,ghee and jaggery,given orally with milk.
- Skin diseases : കരിങ്ങാലി , കണിക്കൊന്ന,നീര്മരുത് are used for internal,external use.
- Fractures : The powdered bark is taken with milk.

The plant naturally occurs in sub- tropical and tropical moist regions of the country.The tree prefers alluvial loamy or black cotton soils, which are loose, moist, fertile, and have good drainage and water holding capacity and also survives in open sunny and low rainfall areas
